Keeping the groundwater clean
Ziwi produces high-end natural pet foods. In order to reduce nitrogen discharge to their land irrigation field and protect groundwater quality, Ziwi engaged Apex Water to design, build and commission a new turn-key Sequencing Batch Reactor wastewater treatment plant to remove Nitrogen and solids from the wastewater before being irrigated to land. The system is sized for up to 40 m3/day.
The resulting system reduced nitrogen discharges by 70% ensuring the ongoing safety of Canterbury’s groundwater.
