Emergency water when it's needed most
Apex Water was engaged by the Capital & Coast District Health Board to design, build and commission an 800kL water reservoir at their Kenepuru Hospital site. The purpose of this project was to increase the resilience of the hospital potable water supply should a major disturbance to the potable water supply occur.
The installation includes an 800kL potable water reservoir, booster pump station, pipes, valves and associated instrumentation. A new switchboard and automation were carried out that connects directly to the facility site Building Management System (BMS). The build was completed on an operating site with no disruption to services during the construction and commissioning to the hospital.
The system also features a seismic switch to automatically isolate the reservoir and prevent the loss of water during an earthquake.
