Apex recently completed the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant that serves the Open Country Dairy and South Pacific Meats processing plants at Awarua, near Invercargill.

The upgrade included the installation of new treatment processes to enhance the plant's capacity and efficiency. Key improvements involved the addition of advanced filtration systems, expanded aeration capabilities, and upgraded sludge management facilities.

These enhancements ensure that the plant can handle increased wastewater volumes from the processing plants while maintaining high treatment standards. The upgraded facility now provides more robust and reliable wastewater treatment, helping to protect the local environment.
