Apex Water was engaged to design and construct a new water treatment plant, treating water from three onsite bores, on a greenfield site in a public area.  This turnkey plant includes cartridge filtration (Apex high-flow filters and housings), UV disinfection and gas chlorination, providing 5-log protozoal treatment meeting the NZ drinking water standards and also allowing for future growth and process enhancements.  Associated systems included treated water storage, pipework, valving, instrumentation, electrical and controls, with full project scope including site facilities such as a new building, access roads and chemical delivery area.Works progressed during COVID-19 lockdowns to minimise delays to programme and acoustic fences and strict working hours were employed to mitigate the risk of noise to residential neighbours during construction.
